madonna half-time super bowl xlviSo far, my favorite super bowl moment is the tightrope walker or dancer during the Madonna half-time performance. Yeah.. That guy was just awesome.. Over all, I think Madonna has done a great job with her halftime performance. I have enjoyed it. The choreography was excellent, and the guy that was dancing on the high wire completely stole the show for me.

The guy ended up being Andy Lewis, and he seems to have captured America’s attention during the Super Bowl Half Time Show. The “sport”, is called slacklining. Please see the bottom of this post for a complete definition…

What is Slacklining?

According to Wiki – Slacklining is a practice in balance that typically uses 1 inch nylon webbing tensioned between two anchor points. Slacklining is distinct from tightrope walking in that the line is not held rigidly taut (although it is still under some tension); it is instead dynamic, stretching and bouncing like a long and narrow trampoline. The line’s tension can be adjusted to suit the user and different types of webbing can be used to achieve a variety of feats. The line itself is flat, due to the nature of webbing, thus keeping the slacker’s footing from rolling as would be the case with an ordinary rope. The dynamic nature of the line allows for impressive tricks and stunts. So what was your favorite part so far? [Source]
